hmm.. text says the stinger feels like a hot nail, this is not surprising when you look closely at the photo, the wasp is clearly wielding.. a nail.

Reminds me of this link to giant hornets slaughtering honeybees. Definitely a plague - bees are more like a moral lesson, because once they sting they die. One shot at martyred justice. Hornets can cover our body in welts or, apparently, melt through our flesh like a Giger creature.
